Pushed Back Again, Scream Factory’s ‘TCM: Next Generation’ Blu-ray Will Include Two Cuts and Commentary

Since being announced, Scream Factory‘s Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation has already hit a couple snags, the first of which was the company being forced to remove stars Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger from the cover art. Now, the release date has been pushed back yet again.

Originally set for release on September 25, the Blu-ray was recently bumped to October 30. Then it was bumped to November 13. The new date, as of today? December 11.

Scream announced today, “We will have two cuts of the film + Director commentary! More extras to be announced next month.”

Here are some other early details on the release:

• This will be branded as a “Collector’s Edition” that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date). U.S. and Canada territories (Region A).

• Extras and specs are still in progress and will be announced soon. What Scream can confirm is that they will have a high-definition transfer of the theatrical cut. It seems they have now obtained the extended version, which they were hoping to include.

• The newly-commissioned artwork pictured below comes from Joel Robinson. This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will the original theatrical poster design.
