Writing about When a Stranger Calls Back for us last year, Meagan had noted that “this made-for-cable television sequel is surprisingly much better [than the first film],” and you’ll have the chance to check it out for yourself when Scream Factory releases the 1993 sequel on Blu-ray later this year.
Just announced tonight, the often-requested sequel to the classic original babysitter chiller will be hitting Scream Factory Blu-ray on May 28th.
“Five years after her own terrifying baby-sitting ordeal, Julia Jenz (Jill Schoelen, The Stepfather) is trying to put her life together when the past comes back to haunt her. Someone is breaking into her apartment, moving objects around and toying with her. The police think she’s just a hysterical coed, but student advisor Jill Johnson (Carol Kane), similarly victimized thirteen years earlier, is determined to nail Julia’s stalker. Retired detective John Clifford (Charles Durning), who saved Jill’s life before, must find and outwit the culprit before it’s too late.”
The company revealed, “We can confirm that we have a new 2018 2K scan of the scan that will be presented in two aspect ratio options (1.33 and 1.78) and a new interview with Carol Kane. More extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date.”
